Exploring Thailand's Scenic Beauty Aboard the "Floating Tourist Train" to Pasak Jolasid Dam Lopburi.

The beloved "floating tourist train" to Pasak Jolasid Dam is set to return next month, providing a unique experience for travelers. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is offering two roundtrips from Bangkok every weekend during the cool-season months of November, December, and January. Pasak Jolasid Dam, Thailand's longest earthen dam, was initiated by the late King Bhumibol to reduce flooding in the Pasak and Chao Phraya river basins. It provides stunning views of the landscape as it crosses the Pasak River in Lopburi province. Construction of this impressive dam began on December 2, 1994, and was completed on September 30, 1999. You can book tickets for the special tour train to the floating train at Pasak Jolasit Dam in Lopburi for the 2023 season. This unique experience will take you to enjoy the cool breeze in the middle of the Pa Sak Jolasit Dam. The train operates on the Bangkok - Pasak Jolasit Dam route every Saturday and Sunday between November 4, 2023, and January 28, 2024. The first day of train ticket sales for the special train tours to Pasak Cholasit Dam begins on October 25, 2023. These train services are available both in the morning and evening, scheduled to run every Saturday and Sunday from November 2023 to January 2024, totaling 24 days. Here are the scheduled dates: - November: 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, 2023 - December: 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 2023 - January: 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, 2024 The special train tours to Pasak Cholasit Dam offer two classes of service: 3rd class ordinary passenger cars and 2nd class air-conditioned cars. Fares for adults and children are as follows: **Ordinary Car, 3rd Class:** (no air-con) * Bangkok - Pasak Cholasit Dam (round trip): 330 baht * Saraburi/Kaeng Khoi - Khok Salung (round trip): 330 baht * Hall buses for short trips, no reserved seats, Saraburi/Kaeng Khoi - Khok Salung (round trip): 200 baht * Pasak Cholasit Dam - Bangkok, (one way): 150 baht **Air-conditioned Car, 2nd Class:** * Bangkok - Pasak Cholasit Dam round trip: 500 baht * Saraburi/Kaeng Khoi - Khok Salung round trip: 500 baht * Pasak Cholasit Dam - Bangkok, return trip only: 250 baht **Air-conditioned Passenger/Sleeping Car, 2nd Class:** * Bangkok - Pasak Cholasit Dam (round trip): 590 baht * Saraburi/Kaeng Khoi - Khok Salung (round trip): 590 baht * Pasak Cholasit Dam - Bangkok, (one way): 250 baht **OTOP Train, Air-conditioned Passenger Car:** * Bangkok - Pasak Cholasit Dam (round trip): 590 baht * Saraburi/Kaeng Khoi - Khok Salung (round trip): 590 baht * Pasak Cholasit Dam - Bangkok, (one way): 250 baht The tour bus schedule for the journey to Pasak Cholasit Dam from Bangkok is as follows: **Train No. 921/926:** * Departs from Bangkok Station (Hua Lamphong) at 6:00 a.m. * Arrives at the "Floating Train" viewpoint in the middle of Pa Sak Cholasit Dam at 9:25 a.m. The train stops on the dam ridge for 20 minutes, allowing tourists to admire the beauty of the dam. * Travels to Khok Salung Station, where there is approximately 30 minutes for tourists to explore, taste local OTOP products, and shop for food and souvenirs from Lopburi Province. * The train then departs from Pasak Cholasit Dam at 10:35 a.m., and tourists can engage in various activities at their leisure. This includes taking a walk along the reservoir, visiting the Pasak Basin Museum, riding on a worm car, paying homage to the Big Buddha, and enjoying lunch from a local community shop. Additionally, tourists can explore the area outside the dam by using the van service of the community van group, which offers special services at a rate of 70 baht per person for the entire route. Tourists can visit attractions like sunflower fields, starburst fields, colorful meadows, beautiful blooms at Baan Kluai & Khai Cafe, Giant Fern Garden, and the view point at Rai Sap Prayun.
